CollectorView version 1.1.3

The latest version of CollectorView just came out this weekend.  We’re excited about the additions and the new versatility it will offer our clients. With this version we’ve added not only a new slide type, but also a whole new kind of measurement – future money.

Now, on to the details.


Future money charts

You, our CollectorView clients, already have a wide variety of ways to track collector performance. Future Money Charts expand this even further with the ability to track future payments such as post-dates and promises. Three new charts will allow collectors to estimate the amount of money that should come in during the coming term.  Here’s a sneak peak:

In the first of the three charts, both collected dollars and expected future money are stacked on top of one another.  This allows collectors to see at-a-glance the overall projected amount for the term.


The amount collected is in orange, and the remaining amount due for the term is in blue. Together you can see what the expected outcome is over the term.

We’ve provided additional ways to display the information. A zero line allows the collected payments to be displayed above the zero line while the future payments are found below. Over the course of the term, the number below the line will shrink as the number above climbs. The third display option shows collected payments and future payments in a traditional side-by side pattern. Additionally, the future payment amount will now appear in the spreadsheet when downloading the transaction history. Our clients should be receiving an email shortly with more detail explaining how to access these new slides.

Scale and page calculation

Two additional settings have been added on the main chart set up page:

First, you can now choose whether the system should scale a chart to a goal amount or if the slide should automatically scale based on the largest value (the default behavior is to continue to scale to the goal).  To explain how useful this is, let’s imagine for a moment that you’ve chosen a slide to track payments over an entire month. Early in the month the values compared to goal are so small they hardly register on the graph at all. Collectors aren’t able to easily see where they’re at in comparison to each other, and to them, it sure looks like an awfully long way before they reach their goal.  But you’ve got a new tool to help them out. You simply change the scale to ‘automatic’ for the first few days of the month. Instantly the chart data scales only to the largest amount collected so far. The display of payments is larger. It’s easy for collectors to see where they are in relation to each other. The goal somehow doesn’t seem so insurmountable anymore.

The second addition that’s been added to the system is the pages setting.  In the past we’ve tried to accommodate large groups of collectors by having two slides for each chart type — one for the first 10 or 12 collectors, and another for the remaining collectors, whether it was just one more collector or 12 additional.  We’ve readjusted the page setting so the slides are now automatically divided and populated evenly. In order to use this new feature, a manager would create a slide and leave the setting at 1 page.  If, after a preview, it seems too crowded or difficult to read, the manager would simply change the pages to 2 (or 3 or more) and restart the show. The program will now automatically spread the contents of the slide evenly over 2 (or more) different slides.  No more showing a second slide with just one collector on it.

CollectorView Version 1.1

New Features and Significant Upgrades in Lastest CollectorView Release

CollectorView’s latest upgrade has added several new client-requested features as well as some changes to the core of the system that should allow for much more versatility in our ability to expand CollectorView and meet the demand for new types of content.

New Features

New Slide: Pacing and Projection Slide

Most managers set some kind of term goal for their collectors, whether weekly, monthly, bi-monthly or every two weeks.  The Pacing and Projection slide shows how closely each person or group is performing to the pace that would let them reach their term goal.  In the easy-to-read graph, a blue line indicates performance ahead of pace, and an orange line for below.  The slide also shows the projected amount a collector or group will reach if they continue at their current pace.

In order to access this slide, you will find some additional settings in the ‘departments’ menu to let you determine which days of the week are actually work days.  This is used to provide an accurate pacing and projection by only counting the days you work.

Multiple screens.

You can now add as many screens as you like, without calling us for help.  Additionally, you can now have multiple screens associated with a single department.  Before, you could have one department that belonged to one screen – which was not very flexible.  Now you can create as many screens (and shows) as you need to fit your needs.

Whenever you go into the ‘tickers’, ‘slides’, or ‘shows’ menus you will be shown only the items associated with the screen you are currently logged into.  To see which you are logged into, look at the top of the screen, next to the logout button.  You’ll see the screen name there.  To switch to another screen, click the screen name, choose the new screen, and click okay.

New Slide: Web Page Slide

You can now create a slide that displays any web page (internal or external) in the rotating show.

For example, if you have an internal web-based dash board for your dialer and you’d like to include that page in the rotation of slides on the screen, you do that by creating a web page slide in the slides menu.

Slides on any data element

We used to have a bar-chart that was specifically for agents and a pie chart that showed only teams.  Now, you can create all charts (bar, pie, and pacing) for agents, teams, departments, and clients.  You can limit the views of those charts by agents, teams, and departments.  This will allow you to see more dimensions of your business on the slides.

So, if you wanted a bar chart to show each team in a department – no problem.  If you wanted a chart to show all clients in the department, also no problem.  There are many possible combinations.

Slides can be paused and individuals slides selected

On the screen, you can bring up a menu by waving your mouse around down by the ticker.  The menu lets you pause the screen rotation, select a particular slide to view, reload the slides (to get new slides into the rotation) and log out.

This has limited functionality on the large-screen display except for the logout and reload options.  However, because you can now have as many screens as you like, you could create an administrative screen for the manager that they can run on their desktop.  They could quickly and conveniently click and see how things are running and how the collectors are performing from their point-of-view.  This could give them access to invormation that ma not be helpful or may be inappropriate to show publicly on the large screen.

Charts and pacing slides more legible from a distance

In the past, large groupings of agents could become so large that many items in the bar charts were hard to read from a distance.  To alleviate this problem, the number of items on each slide has been limited to 8.  On the surface, that may not sound like a good solution, but wait, there’s more.  Bar and pacing slides now come in two varieties (and we can create more if needed): the first page and the second page.  So, if you have a 12-person team, you can show the first (top) 8 on the first page slide and the last 4 on the second.  Stick them back-to-back in the show and they look like a continuous display; showing one page after another.

Finer control over transaction report

Administrators and managers can both choose to run the report for a particular department, or the whole agency.  It used to be that only an administrator could run this report, and they had to run it for the entire agency.  Now managers can run this report as well, and both can select to run it for either a department, or the entire agency.

Slide creation replaces charts

To enhance our ability to provide more slide types quickly in the future, we have replaced the ‘charts’ menu item with ‘slides’ and within ‘slides’ you are now able to create different kinds of charts and tables and web pages from that one menu item.

Additionally, the ‘slides’ creation screen has been both expanded and cleaned up to be more powerful, flexible, and understandable.  Among other things, you will notice helpful, consistent images alongside each slide setup, as well as descriptive text that tells you what the slide is, how it works, and recommendations on how to use it.


System Changes

To facilitate these new enhancements, prepare for the future, and accommodate new host-system interfaces, the following changes have been made:

    • As mentioned above screens are not the top-level item in the hierachy anymore – departments are.  As such several settings have been moved from the screen to the department – where they make more sense.
      • The department’s local Timezone
      • Boss texting – each department can have their own boss now – instead of one per agency.
      • Fees Flag – lets one department use fees, and another use dollars collected.
      • Email distribution lists
      • Work-days settings
      • Goal term length definitions
    • Goals have changed significantly. There are now only two types of goal; daily and term. Daily goals expire each day, but term goals last for a defined period of time, set by you. Term options are weekly, two-week, bi-monthly, and monthly.  The actual start and end dates are automatically updated after you enter them the first time.
    • Agents, supervisors, and managers can now set their own goals. They are no longer dependent on their manager doing it for them.
    • Bar charts and projection tables are limited to showing 8 agents or groups at a time (see related feature).  But, you can have multiple slides together that show consecutively that show groups larger than 8.

Pie carts now show a fun, congratulatory image when the group meets their goal.

  • The pie-chart slide will show a congratulatory image when the group goal is completed. It also shows the total amount collected over the goal.
  • A new, better looking, login screen for CollectorView.
  • Minimum goal amounts have been replaced by a Milestone percentage. This is the percentage of the goal that has some meaning to you – like a percentage of collections when the agent starts earning commission – for example. Some charts will display differently when the milestone has been met.
  • Because some general settings have been moved to the department level, you must choose one department to be the default – so it’s settings can be used in the event that multiple departments are in play.  Note, there is nothing yet in place to enforce one default per agency – we’re leaving that up to you for now.  If you have multiple selected, you will probably experience unexpected results.
  • We have temporarily removed the contests feature. We will have it return shortly in a more useful form and tied into an alert-management system.

A call for help

We would like to provide you with some slides that show call data (like total calls taken, right-party contacts, etc).  However, we need your help to implement them.  We have added call goals into the system; however, they don’t do anything yet.  We need your help to know how best to implement the goals, how the slides should look, and know how best to gather this information.  If you are interested in  helping us create call-centric slides for CollectorView, please let us know.

CollectorView Update 1.0.14

There is a new version of CollectorView.  There have been some changes to some behind-the scenes stuff, but some user additions as well.

  1. When sending transactions to the API and Host Refernece ID’s (account numbers) are included, we validate that that same reference ID has not been already submitted that same day.  This helps with some cheating and mistakes that have been made by collectors.  If you submit a transaction for an account that has already received a transaction that day, collectors will see an error.  If a second transaction is needed, you can still enter it through the web portal.
  2. We’ve done extensive work to interface with the payment provider and automate the renewal process.  It’s not quite done, but very close.
  3. We’ve improved the way new accounts are set up, the process is a little more stream-lined.
  4. We’ve added email distribution lists to the transaction export.  You can now enter an email distribution list in the screen setup and when you run the report you can select to send the report via email to anyone on the email list.  We will shortly be adding a nightly email distribution as well.
  5. We now require all agent names in the agency to be unique.

CollectorView Update 1.0.13

We have a new version of CollectorView running.  Here are some of the big changes.

  1. Enable or disable the transitions effects on the charts (like the bars sliding in, or the pie chart zooming in).  This has a way of making the system run smoother on lower-end machines.
  2. In addition to tracking daily goals we can now track monthly and weekly goals in CollectorView charts.  Note: we do not have this available in the portal yet.
  3. Fixed a bug where it was possible to lose the correct user to team/department association when reassigning agents.  I usually don’t put bugs in these lists, but this bug was particularly problematic so people who have been bitten by it in the past will want to know that it is fixed.
  4. Ability to track client fees as opposed to raw dollars collected.
  5. The ability for CollectorView client’s to be associated with  multiple host-system clients.  Some people, in their collection software have multiple clients set up that all pertain to the same actual client.  This will help with that in direct API interfaces.
  6. An integration between Columbia Ultimate‘s Collector System and the CollectorTech API.

CollectorTech Update 1.0.11

Tonight we updated the CollectorTech products to version 1.0.11.  The major focus of this release was getting it ready for our company marketing launch.  There is a new look and several new informational pages available.  Here are the change highlights.

  • You can now run contests for the entire organization.  Actually, all the departments in the same screen.  In contest set up, under participants, simply choose “All.”
  • Moved agent rank to the side bar to make room for the navigation bar at the top.
  • New color scheme and page layout.
  • Added several new marketing-type pages like contact us, and about, and products.
  • Added nav bar at the top for additional sections, like contact us, or about, and such.
  • Made header and footer areas smaller to handle additional material (nav bar).
  • Directors can now update tickers and transactions for all departments in the screen.
  • Added remote API functionality (POST transactions).  This is a big one.  This allows us to automate transaction entry with your host application.
  • Added Hawaii time as an option for new subscribers.
